Similes and Metaphors in My Sister's Keeper

Simile- " Anger grows around this kid like electricity: this means that her anger is so strong and growing(fierce)

Simile- " There is a sound beside me like an animal wounded, a dying gasp. Then Brian presses his face into my shoulder, sobs into my skin.

Metaphor- " There is a comfort to having Brian beside me, as if we are now a pair of sentries, a double line of defense." : this metaphor is trying to explain how Sara feels with her husband with her, which is she feels more secure and right and complete with him there.

Metaphor- " Weeks have rhymes all their own, and the craziness of a Friday or Saturday night shift stands in direct contrast to a dull Sunday or Monday."- This is saying that throughout the week he can always count on the days to e the same- Friday hectic, Sunday- dull.
